In my experience, traveling Colorado was one of the most magical experiences of my life. The views were extraordinary and the people were very kind. To name one amazing spot in Colorado wouldn't do the state the justice it deserves. In this article, I will outline the hot spots (and cold) that you definitely cannot pass up.

Estes Park, CO

This town had many fun attractions for people of all ages. When my family and I first arrive in Estes Park we drove around to look at the views. In doing so we drove on Trail Ridge Road which in total took 3-4 hours with occasional stops for scenery outlooks. My family decided to hike some trails in Estes Park as well. We hiked up to Alberta Falls which had a beautiful cascading waterfall as seen below. At many stops along the way you could look

out and see the magnificent mountain tops that could make you feel as if you weren't on Earth. After our hike, we found the National Park Gateway Stables which was a tour on horseback. The views were astounding and the horses were so docile. Definitely a recommended experience.

Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak is one of the most famous mountains in Colorado. With its huge dropoff and a dazzling outlook. The journey in total took 2-3 hours and you could either drive your own car up the steep mountainside or take a shuttle up with another group. Once up there there was a gift shop that served hot chocolate, coffee, and doughnuts. Pike's Peak donuts are popular because they are made at such a high altitude.

Other Fun Activities

More fun things we did on our trip included a Coors Brewery Tour which was very intriguing and a cool look into the making process. We also drove through the Garden of the Gods. You can see to the left the formations there were anything but man-made. We hiked through some trails laid out in the Garden. Another fun thing my family did was white water rafting. We used the Raft Masters company off of the Arkansas River. It was a 3-hour excursion with an instructor guiding

you through the whole thing. The next day we traveled to the Royal Gorge which is known for its ginormous bridge stretching across the Gorge. Below was another part of the Arkansas River. The area had many shops and history about the Gorge. You could travel across an air trolley that took you across the Gorge. Seen to the right you can see how long the bridge was and parts of the steep drop below.

Colorado all in all was one of the most beautiful sceneries I have ever witnessed. The different climates added for a spectacular trip and added the element of surprise to each new destination. I would 100% recommend at some point in yours and your family's life to travel to Colorado. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed.
